T-minus 3 days and counting…until FLAWED!

The wait is finally over.

Whether you’re planning to hit the sales, avoid the swarms of crazed shoppers altogether, or need an intense book to distract you from your turkey and pumpkin pie coma, I have a Black Friday treat for you. FLAWED releases in ebook this Friday, November 23rd, on Amazon and Barnes & Noble!

The Cover:

The Blurb:

Sarah O’Brien is alive because of the pact she and her brother made twelve years ago—James will protect her from their violent father if she promises to never leave him. For years, she’s watched James destroy his life to save hers. If all he asks for in return is her affection, she’ll give it freely.

Until, with a tiny kiss and a broken mind, he asks for more than she can give.

Sam Donavon has been James’s best friend—and the boy Sarah’s had a crush on—for as long as she can remember. As their forbidden relationship deepens, Sarah knows she’s in trouble. Quiet, serious Sam has decided he’s going to save her. Neither of them realize James is far more unstable than her father ever was, or that he’s not about to let Sarah forget her half of the pact…

When—and where—can you grab a copy?

  • The ebook version of FLAWED will be available on Amazon and B&N exclusively for the first week or two, with the distributor listing it in all the usual places (both here and abroad) after the initial launch.
  • We anticipate the print book hitting bookstore shelves in December or January. As soon as I have the exact date, I’ll update my book page and tweet about it.
  • Afraid you’ll miss the update? Stop by your local B&N and order your copy at the counter—they’ll email you as soon as your copy is in stock. You can also hit up one of the online retailers and pre-order your copy there. I recommend The Book Depository, who currently has the book on sale for only $7.49!

What people are saying about FLAWED:

“Darkly moving, expertly written, FLAWED grabs you by the heart from the first page and doesn’t let go.”
– New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde

“Gorgeously written, achingly bittersweet, FLAWED addresses the deeply complex nature of abuse and its heartbreaking effects on a family.”
– Christa Desir, author of FAULT LINE (Fall 2013, Simon Pulse)

Everyone has been so awesome about the wait and our decision to move the book from summer to the fall season. Now that release day is almost here, I’m excited to share the book with readers. I can’t thank you guys enough for all the support and enthusiasm you’ve shown me and FLAWED these last few months, and for voting in the contest that won me this fantastic cover. While I know the book won’t be for everyone, I’m glad to have found such a fabulous community of readers, bloggers, and friends. Hope to see you all on the blog tour later this year!

Exciting updates!

Happy Labor Day everyone! Whether you’re hanging out in the sun with the hot boy or girl of your dreams or curled up with a fabulous book, I hope everyone is finishing off their summer vacation right. Eyeing this picture, I’m thinking about adding a long walk around the lake with Resident Hottie to my To Do list.

It’s been awhile since I checked in, so I thought now would be a fantastic time to pop in and say THANK YOU to all the bloggers and readers who have been endlessly supportive of FLAWED and of me since Entangled Teen announced they’d picked up the book. You guys are incredible. Seriously. No way, no how, would I be as excited to be an author if it wasn’t for all of you.

This being said, I have some news I’d like to share.

As many of you have already noticed, FLAWED was moved from its original July 2012 release date to the more cozy Fall 2012 season. While I’m pretty desperate to get the book into everyone’s hands (see above—you all rock!), I’m thrilled with this change. Fall is *the* season for fabulous books and I’m honored to get to be part of that excitement. And really…a dark book like mine? It’s going to feel that much creepier when read on a stormy fall night.

There’s been some speculation over whether the book will release in October or November—I’m going to say November, just to be safe. If the book hits Amazon and B&N a few weeks early, awesome. Those of you who notice will get to grab a copy before anyone else. (If this happens, I’ll whisper about it here and on Twitter—don’t worry!)

I’ve also received a lot of emails regarding availability—too many to respond to individually. Again with you guys being made of awesome. Rest assured, print copies of Entangled Teen books are available online and in bookstores all over the place. And FLAWED will be available in ebook on its official release date, whenever that may be! I’m partial to print books, especially when they have a cover like mine (THANK YOU everyone who voted for this one in Entangled’s contest!!), but I love my Kindle Fire. I totally get the ebook thing.

Another fun question I’ve been asked this week is whether my swag will be for sale on my website. Right now, the answer is no. I plan to give away swag to the lucky winners on my blog tour, and just gave a TON of it away at the RWA conference in July (if you snagged a YARWA bag, you have one of 100 specially-made FLAWED swag packs!). Maybe if demand is high for dog tags and bracelets and such after the book comes out, I’ll revisit this idea then. In the meantime, follow along on the blog tour when it begins and enter as many times as you can!

If you’re looking for ways to get involved with FLAWED’s release, consider grabbing my countdown widget and getting in touch with my publicist Heather Riccio (heatherriccio(at)entangledpublishing(dot)com). With the shifting dates, there may still be spots open on the blog tour. She also handles ARC requests and all that fun stuff so I can concentrate on writing more books. The #DarkDarlings already got a sneak peek at the next book in my queue. I hope you love it as much as they did!

I’m off to see a sexy man about a lake. Happy end-of-summer, everyone. I’ll see you in November…

Nominate YOUR favorites in the FtLoC Contemporary YA Awards!

Many of us have seen the Young Adult “readers choice” award contests going around the blogsphere. They’re fun, and they’re interesting…but, sadly, contemporary stories often get buried beneath the other genres.

Saturday, Sept 8th: Nominations close at MIDNIGHT. This gives us Sunday to tally all the nominations.

Monday, Sept 10th: The top THREE in each category for the Awards. Voting will open!

Thursday, Sept 13th: Winners for Steph Campbell’s books will be announced! And a new contest will open for an e-book copy of Hushed by Kelley York, and YOUR CHOICE of one of Nyrae Dawn’s e-books! (What a Boy Wants, What a Boy Needs, Freeing Carter, or Measuring Up)
